Warped into a yellow system, fast transit, only a couple seconds, and... by Nal! Pirates attacking freighter, old on!!...

Damn pirates. It turned into a full engagement almost immediately. They just kept coming, wave after wave, but they weren’t ready for a sudden interception like that. Me and my squadron hit them hard. Coordinated strikes, tight formations, tearing through their lines before they could properly regroup. No contest in the end.
The freighter they were protecting had its shielding active, which made pursuit messy. At times I’d be inside the shield pocket while they were forced outside it, then I’d have to break out again just to keep pressure on them. Disorienting, but manageable once the rhythm settled. Eventually we cleared them out completely.
After the fight, I was invited aboard by the Korvax captain: Zam. We celebrated with his crew and my squadron pilots in the main bay. Communication was… imperfect. My Korvax is still rough, and their Universal wasn't much better, but we managed through gestures and partial translation from Davix, one of my pilots.
They had these high-voltage drinks: sharp, almost electric in taste. I shared some Chewy Wires in return.
Before I left, Zam gifted me 230 nanites and 320 units of gold. I thanked him properly before departing.
Back in my ship now. Space is calm again. New system, new routes to map. I’ll see what this one has to offer.
