Entry 21 - Black Canyon system

Entry 21

Back at the Echo Repository, the Korvax hailed me and Birob as heroes. They were fascinated by the skulls and immediately began discussing their origin, working together as if they had been waiting for something like this. A Pure Entity, clearly leading the group, approached me personally. He congratulated me, then gestured for me to follow.

He led me deep into the archive. Stairwells, corridors, levels stacked within levels until we reached a quiet living quarter. He knocked before entering. Inside was a large, furnished room. A hearth built into one side, warm light against polished metal and advanced systems designed for comfort.

At the table sat another Traveller.

Large cape over his shoulders. Pink head, wide, with large ears. He looked up and greeted me. The Pure Entity remained at the door for a moment, then left us alone.

The Traveller invited me to sit and offered a glass of water. I reached for it, but my hand passed straight through his. The glass went with it. I froze. He sighed, sat back down, and gestured toward a map spread across the table.

I leaned in.

The moment I focused on it, everything changed.

I was somewhere else. A desert-like wasteland, broken, unstable. The Traveller stood before me, flickering, parts of him phasing in and out of existence. He started crying, trying to tell me something, pointing at himself. I heard the word, I know I did, but it slipped away instantly. Gone the moment I tried to hold onto it.

He tried again. And again. Growing frantic. I couldn’t remember. Couldn’t hold onto anything he said.

Everything began to blur. Time, space, the world itself slipping.

Then I was back at the table.

The Traveller sat across from me, calmly drinking from the glass of water. He looked up and asked if I had noticed any disturbances outside. Said he was worried something was happening to his world.

I told him no. That I hadn’t seen or heard anything unusual.

He relaxed. Slid back in his chair.

I stood and left. The moment felt done. Like it wasn’t meant to be questioned further.

The Pure Entity was waiting at the door. We walked back together toward the exit. On the way, he spoke about the Traveller, though not in detail. Before I departed, he gave me coordinates to a location they had recently discovered.

I’m keeping them logged.
